In Yin Yoga we slow down, relax and surrender in the poses. Yin Yoga is a slow and gentle, yet very profound and meaningful practice. It allows us to reduce our stress levels and release built up tensions, so that our energy system will restore and find balance.

We hold the poses for time (3-5 minutes) with relaxed muscles, which creates a deep and continuous stimulation of the deeper connective tissues (e.g. fascia) within the joints, tendons and ligaments. In this way the natural juiciness of these deeper layers of tissues is reinforced, creating suppleness of the body and a strong and free flow of vital life energy (also referred to as ‘ki’, ‘chi’ or ‘prana’).

Yin Yoga offers us the experience of turning inward, of surrender, stillness and mindful awareness, which is often rather challenging as our minds are used to being so active! The Yin Yoga poses invite us to sit, to be with our thoughts and emotions, allowing them to arise (in stead of suppressing them) and to release the blocked energy that is stored in the body.


My yoga classes and sessions are designed to improve health and wellbeing on all levels - mind, body and soul. I guide you in practicing functional yoga, which means we focus on your personal abilities and experience in stead of what you or your yoga practice should look like.

I share yoga in a manner that welcomes both beginning and more advanced yogis. My yoga classes and sessions are marked by softness, a lot of personal care and attention and offer sufficient space to explore and push your physical as well as mental boundaries in a very gentle way.


My aim is to inspire you to cultivate the courage to bring the principles of yoga off the mat into daily life, as that is where our real yoga practice begins.

I am a certified Yin Yoga teacher, passionate about sharing the teachings of Paul & Suzee Grilley. My main Yin Yoga teachers are Anat Geiger and José de Groot, who I have practiced with extensively for many years.
